The Others (2019)

The images question and reveal the novel and strange nature that “the other” introduces into our lives. Sometimes by identification and others because it is different and exceptional.
Socially we accept diversity, those differences that the system, itself, establishes and allows.
In words of Byung Chul Han: “The times in which the other existed were gone. The other as mystery, the other as seduction, the other as Eros, the other as desire, the other as hell, the other as pain is disappearing. Today, the negativity of the other gives way to the positivity of the same”.
The phenomenon of global communication raises the need to strive to be authentic. This effort implies permanent comparison with others. We all want to be different. But narcissism blinds us when it comes to seeing the other. All otherness is eliminated. The strange has been eliminated.
